VI° Festival Pianistico Internazionale – Irene Veneziano – 23rd March 2013
In occasion of the second-last Concert of the 6th International Piano Festival organized at Teatro Miela in Trieste by the Musical Association “Il Concerto” with the Cooperative Bonawentura, the young pianist Irene Veneziano has been received as a guest on Saturday March 23rd (…)
First Veneziano played the Scherzo op. 31, the Polonaise op. 44 and the Ballade op. 23 by Chopin, marking herself out for her very solid technique and for her own interpretation.
The second half, on the other hand, was devoted to the Sonata op, 25 n. 5 by Muzio Clementi (written after the manner of Mozart), to the hardly unknown but beautiful Notturno by Respighi, and then to a Fantasy by Veneziano herself about Puccini’s opera arias, very elegant and performed in a very cantabile way and sensitive feeling.
At the end of the programme was another Fantasy, the Liszt one about Rigoletto by Verdi, very virtuosic.
Lots of cheering by the Miela audience, and Veneziano gave as her encore the first Gnossienne by Satie and the acrobatic Toccata by Saint-Saens, interpreted with a great virtuosity.
